Wasco County Landfill – Cells 1B and 2A

Wasco County Landfill is a municipal solid waste disposal facility located approximately 6 miles from The Dalles, Oregon and is owned and operated by Waste Connections, Inc. DelHur was contracted to perform disposal cell expansion services at this facility. Major items of work included earthwork to complete subgrade preparation, completing the construction of a perimeter embankment, cell subgrade prep, and the construction of a stormwater collection basin on the east and south side of existing Cell 2. Additional scope included the installation of bollards and cross rails to support pipes, the removal of pumps from pipes, and the reinstallation of pumps with longer leads following construction. Existing pump controls were moved to the perimeter embankment; a new concrete pad was constructed and unistrut was erected to support a pump control panel. DelHur furnished and installed a geosynthetic clay liner (GCL), geomembrane and geoocomposite liners for the LCRS; furnished, loaded, hauled, and installed crushed rock above the geocomposite LCRS; furnished and installed a geotextile separator; installed an operations layer; and performed final grading and hydroseeding.
