This work consists of roadway excavation (800,000 m3); sub excavation (11,500 m3); select borrow (14,500 m3); select topping (20,500 m3); roadway obliteration (35,345 m2); aggregate base grading (28,000 t); emulsified asphalt treated aggregate base grading (28,500 t); conserving timber and root wads for use in temporary diversion channel restoration, stream restoration, fish passage installation, and conserving slash for the construction of brush barriers for erosion control purposes; conserving and stockpiling timber and root wads; conserving and placing landscaping boulders and conserving boulders for rock weirs and large woody debris structures at fish passage installations; controlled blasting (13,500 m); scarifying and removing existing pavement structures; removing and disposing all metal culverts; obliterating existing roadway; furnishing and placing riprap (class 2 – 18,500 m3, class 4 – 30 m3,) for bank protection; constructing courses of hot asphalt concrete pavement (class B, grading C, type 1 – 20,500 t); constructing asphalt concrete drainage aprons at curb breaks; furnish culvert pipe; furnish and install under drain systems; apply turf establishment slurry mixture; installing a log weir system and woody debris structure at stream channel restoration areas.

For this project we developed a quarry that produced 28,000 metric tons of base, 28,000 metric tons of treated aggregate base, and 20,000 metric tons of aggregate for superpave asphalt. Our quarry was shot using our rock drills and excavated with a 980 wheel loader and taken to the crusher. The major crushing unit includes 3042 Pioneer Jaw Crusher, a Cedarapids RC5411 Cone, a Conica 105 Impactor, and JCI 6×20 Screen, conveyor, etc.
